Whilst some of these features are more commonplace than others, we’ll explain what some of the features on offer can do.

Open Window Detection

This is an energy-saving technology which stops the heater from wasting huge amounts for energy if a door or window has been opened. It can detect when there is a quick, large drop in temperature and will pause the system to prevent waste. Once the temperature has stabilised, it will then reset its program and resume heating activity.

Adaptive Start

This technology uses the lowest power consumption whilst enhancing temperature control. It is self-learning which means that it will learn which time is the most optimal time to begin pre-heating the room. This way, it has the room at the exact temperature you have set, at the exact time you want it for.

A normal electric radiator will start heating the time it is set, whereas a smart storage heater that has adaptive start, will have the room already heated. This is an ultra-modern feature which provides a higher level of heating performance.

Frost Prevention

Most heaters offer frost prevention mode as standard. This is a default mode that stops the heating system from falling below 5°C. This simple piece of technology has saved so many products from being disposed of earlier than their shelf life as freezing can cause permanent, irreversible damage. Traditionally, people were advised to leave their heating on during winter months to prevent the pipes from freezing.
