What is Fuzzy Logic?

Feb 27

Fuzzy logic is a mathematical technique for generating a spectrum of values between discrete binary values (0-1, TRUE-FALSE, ON-OFF). These numbers are said to be "fuzzy" in the sense they are indiscrete, inexact, and represent only degrees of precision. What does Fuzzy Logic mean for heaters? The benefit of fuzzy logic control technology for heating applications is that a heater can provide greater efficiency and therefore lower energy consumption via a more precise calculati...

What is an IP rating?

Feb 22

Ingress protection ratings determine the level of effectiveness an electrical product is against foreign bodies and liquids affecting its inner-workings. The higher the IP rating the more resistant the instrument is against intrusion. IP ratings are important because they are necessary to understand if an electrical instrument is at risk of causing danger. For example, some heaters are appropriate for heating a shower or wet room: a towel rail has a high IP rating of 44. The first numbe...

IP Ratings and Bathroom Zones explained

Feb 22

A bathroom can be a confusing place in your home to heat, with many radiators being unsuitable for installation - an electric towel rail seems the obvious choice. An electric towel rail offers somewhere to warm your towels and hang them whilst providing the same warmth as an ordinary heater would. Heated towel rails have an IP Rating suitable for zone 2, whereas most electric heaters do not carry this rating. Fitting an electric radiator in your bathroom must comply with IP (Ingress Protec...

I searched for days on the Internet to find a suitably-proportioned heater to replace a vertical towel rail. This was the only one, and I found the best price and delivery speed. The heater is excellent, and warms a medium-sized bathroom. Excellent flexibility with programming, and easy to do. The mounting bracket did bend a little during fitting, but, once up, the heater is secure. Recommended without reservation.

Excellent service: heater ordered on Sunday and delivered, as promised, early on Tuesday morning.

Poor

Heater is ugly but practical. The towel rails are really flimsy, they bend down under the weight of a towel. The mounting bracket is also flimsy - fine for holding the heater but it took 15 minutes to release the two quick mounting clips as pressing the quick release simply bent the metal. Once detached the install was really quick and easy. Timer programming was pretty good once the hidden "copy to all days" option was discovered, and touch controls worked properly unlike on the Q-rad heater. Disappointed that it doesn't have a boost button to quick-heat the bathroom as one occasionally needs to at an odd time of day, but otherwise seems ok.

Good price, quick delivery, good packaging.

Thank you very much for the great feedback.
