At Heater Shop we have a wide range of traditional radiator valves on offer. This includes both manual and thermostatic radiator valves (or radiator TRV valves) which are available in a variety of colours and finishes whilst being suitable for an assortment of brands and models of radiators.
Radiator valves are used to help keep a constant temperature within a room. It does this by controlling the amount of hot water entering and exiting the radiator within the space. Within this category there are two types: manual & thermostatic. The difference between them is being either controlled by manually or automatically. Thermostatic models can detect the air temperature. This then allows them to control the temperature. Rigid radiator valve extensions are used if your pipes are awkwardly positioned. You could use an extension piece to bridge the gap.
Using thermostatic valves couldn't be easier. Adjusting the temperature simply requires you to turn it to a higher or lower setting. Then all you need to do is wait until your desired temperature is reached. Available for both central heating and as towel rail valves, you’ll find everything you need below.
We offer angled, corner, and straight radiator valves in both manual and thermostatic designs. With so many options to choose from, you're sure to find one to suit your home. Here are some short explanations to help guide you on how to choose and use what is best suited to you and your home.
Manual Angled Radiator Valves
A manual valve is the most used of all. You'll find them on most towel rails and central heating systems. This is due to their simplistic function. You either turn them up, down or off based on how hot want the room to be. Turning the valve either increases or decreases the amount of warm water flowing through the radiator. This then changes how much heat is emitted from the radiator.
We provide 4 different colours of valves. This includes Chrome, Anthracite, Brushed and White. These are spread across the nine different styles we offer. With quick, easy application you can't go wrong. Plus, our price match promise, free delivery, free design service, heat loss calculator and trade credit account usage. There's no reason for our products not to be in your home.
Manual Corner Valves
A corner valve is a more modern design. It is also known by the names of double angled valves and double entry valves. These are best used where the radiator feed pipes come out of the wall and placed straight into the back of the valve.
Manual Straight Valves
Similarly, to the corner, the manual straight valve is used to connect your radiator pipework from the wall to the radiator. However, this valve does so without the bend. They are used when your radiator and pipework are already aligned. All you need to do is control the flow of water. This will cause the radiator to maintain a steady temperature.
Thermostatic Angled Valves
Thermostatic angled valves contrast manual due to being self-regulating. This means depending on the setting the flow of water to your radiator will be adjusted by the valve rather than you having to do so yourself. The head of the valve is placed above the body. As the room temperature changes the head expands. This causes the pin in the valve body to adjust so that it opens or closes.
Thermostatic Straight Valves
A thermostatic radiator valve works by using the temperature in the air within a room around the allowing the device to shut and stop the flow of water throughout the radiator to prevent the room from overheating. If there are multiple thermostats in the same area they will battle to increase and decrease the radiators heat within a space.
Thermostatic Corner Radiator Valves
Thermostatic Corner Valves have contrasting features to the manual valve as it is self-regulating. This measures the temperature of the room and then adapts the temperature output of the radiator. This allows individual room control, helping save money by being more enegy efficient. This way, you'rs not overheating rooms as well as unnecessarily heating unused rooms. Also, having the corner shape helps feed pipes coming out of the wall into the back of a valve rather than being more limited by straight valves.
We offer a variety of models and many of the are available in different colours, some of the colours we have in stock at all times are as follows:
- Black Radiator Vales
- Anthracite Radiator Valves
- Chrome Radiator Valves
