Portable electric heaters are the perfect solution if you cannot commit to the permanent space of an electric radiator mounted on your wall, or you just want a bit of extra comfort for those cold days/nights. Mobile heaters can be used as a temporary solution if your heating fails. They can be used all year round and with inbuilt timers on larger wattage products, they offer even more control. Easily portable and storable, the versatility and multi-functionality of portable heaters is what makes them a must have. Our portable radiators are a robust mobile heat source. They can use different heating elements such as oil, gel, or dry stone. Most of Heater Shop’s portable heaters are a lightweight plug-in option. They are easily moved using a tow handle or wheels. Many of our portable heaters are thermostatically controlled. This means they can react to temperature changes and have greater control over their output. We offer a variety of sizes and wattages from 400w to 3kW.

Choosing the right size

Your required wattage is dependent upon the situation. For a quick burst of heat, higher wattage convector heaters are ideal. For a source of heat over a longer period, lower wattage models can be a reliable, more energy-efficient option. If you have a large area to heat and need more power than 3kW, we recommend buying multiple heaters. This would be a better option for larger open-plan spaces. Alternatively, you could consider a more permanent heating source such as an electric radiator.

Where to use a portable heater

You can use a portable heater almost anywhere. They are an excellent option for warming small indoor spaces. This includes workshops, sheds, lofts, porches, and bedrooms. With an adjustable heat setting, they can be useful when your fossil-fuelled heat source has stopped working. Great to have stored away in case you ever become in need. Portable electric heaters can be used in a variety of scenarios. Note that most plug-in portable heaters are not suitable in areas where they are likely to be exposed to water.

Alternatives to portable heaters

Electric radiators or panel heaters are an excellent solution for more everyday long-term uses. Electric fan heaters are possibly a smaller option and generally use less energy, they can be useful for convecting air from a high wall mounting. We also offer fan heaters, which features frost protection. This makes them suitable for localised heating such as lofts, sheds, and garages.
